A. Categories & Topics
All abstracts must be topics / sections pertaining to Clinical Immunology & Rheumatology under the relevant work category

  • Case Report/ Series (only Poster Presentation)

B. Abstract Preparation Guidelines

1. ABSTRACTS ON ORIGINAL RESEARCH (Clinical or Basic / Translational)

The main content of the abstract should not be more than 400 words (excluding title, authors list and affiliation, references)

The content (main body) of the abstract should be structured into the following sections:
  • Title
  • Authors & Affiliation
  • Main body / Content of the Abstract
  • Background
  • Objectives
  • Materials & Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions
  • References (optional: max 3 references)

2. CASE REPORTS/ CASE SERIES (only poster presentation)

The main content of the abstract should not be more than 300 words (excluding title, authors list and affiliation)

The content (main body) of the abstract should be structured into the following sections:
  • Title
  • Authors & Affiliation
  • Main body of the Case Report/ Series
  • Background
  • Case details
  • Conclusion

C. Abstract Rules
  • Members as well as non-members of the Indian Rheumatology Association are eligible to submit an abstract
  • Abstract once published cannot be modified
  • Abstracts that describe original clinical or basic/translational science related to the broad area of rheumatic diseases may be submitted
  • If the abstract reports results of a clinical trial, you will be required to provide information on the trial phase and registration with the Clinical Trial Registry of India (CTRI) (as part of the main abstract/case study body)
  • The abstract should not have been already published or be part of a review under consideration in a peer-reviewed journal (if presented at another conference, declare the same)
  • Any work involving human or animal subjects must comply with the guiding principles of the World Medical Association Declaration of Helsinki
  • Last date for submission of abstracts is 31st August 2026
  • Registration for the conference is mandatory for presentation of the abstract
  • Abstracts will be judged based on scientific merit and relevance by the scientific committee and assigned as poster or oral presentations
  • Abstract should not contain brand names, trade names, non-standard acronyms, or commercial advertisements
  • Please select India if work has been done in India and International if work has been done outside India.
  • The presenting author should be willing to present the work during the IRACON 2026 as either an oral platform presentation or poster presentation as assigned by the scientific committee
  • It is implied that the authors, by virtue of submission of the abstract, agree to the publication of the same in the souvenir of the conference/ Indian Journal of Rheumatology
  • Abstracts can only be submitted online via the online abstract submission system provided on the conference website
  • Abstracts sent by post or email will not be accepted. No exceptions will be made
  • Please ensure that your abstract does not contain spelling, grammatical or scientific errors, as it will be reproduced exactly as submitted. No proof reading will be done by the committee/ organizers
  • The final decision about acceptance of an abstract will be taken by the IRACON Scientific Committee. IRACON does not correspond on the reasons for acceptance/rejection of an abstract
  • The submitted scripts will be reviewed by a panel of experts in a blinded and coded fashion; the delegates shall be informed about the acceptance (either for Oral presentation/E-Poster presentation) one month before the date of conference.
  • Decisions of the IRACON 2026 Abstract Committee about acceptance and category (Oral/e-poster) of presentation shall be conveyed by email.
  • Should you decide to withdraw your abstract, a written statement reflecting the reasons for this decision must be sent to the IRACON 2026 Secretariat not later than 15th October 2026
  • Papers accepted for oral presentation shall have the opportunity of podium presentation of their work at the conference. The E- posters shall be displayed at the conference venue and will be open for viewing by delegates during the conference.
  • The best oral presentations and e-posters shall be awarded. The rest of the participants shall receive an acknowledgement certificate from IRACON 2026.
  • To be eligible as presenting author, the individual will be required to give an undertaking that he/she had full access to all data in the study and takes full responsibility for the integrity of the data, accuracy of data analysis, and has the approval of other authors for presentation. The presenting author need not be the first author but must be a listed author on the abstract. Only one presenter is permitted per abstract
  • Publishing the abstract on the submission portal does not guarantee acceptance or publication in Indian Journal of Rheumatology till it is accepted by Scientific Committee.

D. Important Note
  • The submitting author is the sole point of contact for all abstract co-authors. The organizing committee will direct all inquiries/ details/ instructions to the submitting author
  • The organizing committee requests the author(s) to refrain from contacting the organisers or scientific chair personally or telephonically
  • Abstract status / mode of presentation and format of E-Poster/ Oral (platform) presentation will be notified to the submitting author via e-mail by the 31st October, 2026
  • Status on bursary will be announced during the closing ceremony/valedictory function of the conference
  • Once an abstract is submitted, an acknowledgement of submission will be sent to submitting author
  • The decision of the scientific committee to accept/ reject the abstract and the mode of presentation (oral/poster) and award of bursary would be final. No correspondence/ recommendation shall be entertained in this regard.
  • Bursaries for trainees [DM/DNB/Fellowship (Clinical Immunology & Rheumatology) & MD/DNB (General Medicine/ Pediatrics)] will be allotted on merit for selected abstracts. Kindly ensure that a letter from HOD/ Program Director is also submitted as a supporting document in PDF format.
